There is no priority that ought to be higher than continually renewing our minds to God’s Word because it is the only thing that enables our born again spirit to impact our not-so-saved souls.
Whatever you need for this new year, healing, encouragement, refreshment, focus, drive, direction, increase, restoration - ANYTHING, the only place we receive it authentically is in Jesus, The Anointed. I’m here to encourage you to meditate on God’s Words every day. Here are a few reminders:
Just keep starting. It doesn’t matter how many days you’ve missed. You do not get merits or demerits for days in the Word. You get the blessing of a renewed mind for this side of life. Just because you miss a few days doesn’t mean it’s not a habit.
Some minutes are better than no minutes. Just read until it pierces your heart.
Don’t try to do the bible in a year, and stick to the New Testament until you are 1000% confident in your New Covenant position. Read of Jesus in the gospels! Read of God’s love in 1 John! Read about God’s gracious gift of righteousness and the power of our faith in the epistles.
You can get into scripture anytime, anywhere. I doesn’t have to be quiet, private, cozy, or photographable. Use time where there is time and enjoy His presence anywhere because He’s IN YOU.
Use “when then” to set yourself up for your next Word date. “When I wash my face then I’ll have Word time.” Also, it’s ok to remember right before you go to sleep and take a few minutes right then. It doesn’t have to be in the morning, friends.
Reward yourself. However that looks for you. A check mark, a sticker, a latte, a new pair of shoes, whatever. Positive reinforcement works and we’re never to old for prizes!
BONUS: scrutinize all the sources that you allow in your ears and eyes. I encourage you to reduce or cut out everything that does not support God’s Truths. Sadly this can include sources we think ARE based on truth; knowing the Word for ourselves eliminates all fear of wrong teaching. Guard your heart and fortify it with sources of Truth, encouragement, and love!
This DSG was inspired by the question, “What scriptures have I built my life on?”
A quick update about me and EDF! It’s been a year of reset, healing, clarity, focus, and dream building. My biggest revelations this year have been about what matters in eternal perspective, the pursuit of living present for continual awareness of the life of God inside me, and daring to ask what’s possible when I live fully believing what God has said - and seeing miraculous results from it!
I’m working for our church, Christian Faith Campus, and teaching every few weeks on “Thursday Night LIVE”.
I coached more than I’ve ever coached before and loved it more than I’ve ever loved it before! If you’re interested in coaching just reach out to me. Every Day Faith Coaching is for women seeking lasting transformation through deepening their relationship with God.
I love you all and I think of you often. I pray for you when the Lord brings you to mind. You are a loving, joyful, dangerous, powerful child of God!
Happily,
Tabitha
