Chapter 10 – An Unbelief Problem
You do not have a faith problem. All Christians have the same type and amount of faith, and it’s the same faith of Jesus. In fact, the faith we use to believe God is actually the faith that Jesus gifts to Believers through the Holy Spirit. Yeah, we don’t even have to muster up our own faith! The only thing we do is make the choice to believe Jesus and once that happens we are filled with all that is of Jesus, including faith. (Romans 12:3, 2 Corinthians 4:13)
However, you may have an unbelief problem. The statement, “I believe in God” is not the same as, “I believe God.” Even Lucifer and the demons believe that God exists. It’s not hard to believe in God, but to believe God is a totally different story. If every Christian would make the choice to believe the Bible the entire world would change. What if we read the Bible just believing everything that’s written there? What if we esteemed the Word more than any other words? What if we could listen to any preacher without fear of being misled because we knew and esteemed the Word even above a teacher’s words? What if we believed that we are intimately joined to God and hear Him through His word, that it’s not hard or mysterious, it doesn’t require a degree, and that we can trust God’s love is at the heart of everything He has ever said or done? When we challenge every corner of our hearts and minds to authentically believe God above everything it will radically impact our lives. Unbelief prevents people from experiencing the miraculous. Unbelief is what keeps people stuck in identity lies. Once a human is born again the mission is to just believe God in and for everything. This is the renewing of the mind that Romans 12:2 is talking about! We must renew our understanding to our new reality as citizens of the kingdom of God.
